Adaptive Skills Courses
Coping – Available NOW!
Intention for the
Adaptive Skills Courses
Often, people who weren’t raised by parents with adaptive coping skills are left feeling like they are a step behind those who were. These courses are designed to help you develop any adaptive skills you don’t currently have at a time and place that suits you, without sharing your story with a therapist (or an AI therapist bot).
These courses have been developed using a transdiagnostic model grounded in evidence-based theories, incorporating the skills most commonly listed as symptoms in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5-TR) and among the most frequently sought by clients attending our face-to-face practice. Often, our clients say, “I wish I could record our sessions so I can play them back to remind myself of what I am working on.” Now you can!
The sessions are self-paced, so you can keep going back to them as you develop the skills as often as you need.
The first course we are starting with is:
Adaptive Coping Skills
If you’re tired of feeling overwhelmed, stuck in your head, or like nothing you’ve tried actually works… this course will give you practical, science-backed tools you can use immediately. This course includes teaching you our easy-to-use recognise, regulate, respond coping framework.
Followed by:
Adaptive Relationship Skills
Develops your skills in understanding how your attachment and past relationships impact your current communication and relationships. Sometimes the barriers to having a good relationship come from how we interpret our partner’s actions or reactions, and how we react to them. We focus on developing adaptive communication strategies using our connect, curious, compromise relationship framework.
Adaptive Parenting Skills
Aims to put you back in charge as the parent by developing your skills in regulating yourself, to be able to be a confident, consistent parent for your child. We will help you do this by exploring what you want for your children, using big-picture thinking to keep you focused, and applying emotion-coaching skills with your children during challenging moments. This course will use our connect, coach, correct parenting framework.
Reminder
The courses are not a replacement for traditional therapy; they are skill-focused courses designed to help build the adaptive skills that people with mental health diagnoses often lack.
